| Description: | From Colonial Times: A Day to Remember Website: The largest and oldest event is Colonial Times: A Day to Remember. Held the third weekend in October, this event offers an opportunity to understand what daily life was like for the people who settled our area. It was also named one of the top 20 events in the southeast by the Southeast Tourism Society in 2000, 2001 and 2004. In addition to several featured guests, the event features demonstrations in pottery, weaving and spinning, frontier trading, quilting, blacksmithing, meat curing, gold and silversmithing, candle making, and much more. It is a wonderful and informative event for the entire family.
