Activities for children, tours of KKBEs historic property and live entertainment will also be provided. Tickets will be sold to purchase food and enjoy activities. An outdoor stage will feature a mix of local artists. Confirmed acts include acclaimed violinist, Seth Gilliard (www.********.***) who recently won third place in a nationwide YouTube music video contest hosted by Ryan Seacrest, and Charles Miller who played the organ during President Barack Obamas rendition of Amazing Grace at the memorial for the Reverend Clementa Pickney. The hourly Hava Nagila on Hasell dancing celebration will be led by an eclectic mix of entertainers, including a steel drum band, a one-man band, and a ukulele player

Founded in 1749, Kahal Kadosh Beth Elohim has been a part of the Charleston fabric for over 266 years. KKBEs first sanctuary was destroyed by the great fire of 1838. The current sanctuary built in 1840 is considered one of the finest examples of Greek revival architecture. It is the second oldest synagogue building in the United States and the oldest in continuous use. The opportunity to share this historic milestone and create a new cultural festival for the city is a great honor, says Alex Grumbacher, Executive Director of KKBE. We are excited to share our history, the history of Jewish Charleston, provide good Jewish food and great entertainment with the entire community.
