Description:
The Horry County Museum hosted the first annual quilt gala in 1994 on the lawn of the old County Courthouse with 40 beautiful quilts waving in the breeze. The event has grown into a two day show exhibiting nearly 200 quilts and quilted items. The show also has a Merchant Marketplace with lots of quilting notions, fabrics and supplies for sale. The gala is held in the 17,000 sq. ft. Ocean Lakes Family Campground Recreation Center on the shores of the Atlantic Ocean in Myrtle Beach, S.C.
Saturday 10:00 am - 4:00 pm and Sunday 1:00 pm - 4:00 pm

Event/Application Rules and Regulations:
Submit a separate form for each entry. If you are submitting more than one quilt per category, please select the order of hanging.
The Gala staff reserves the right to limit entries due to space availability. Entrants will be notified and quilts will be returned prior to the Gala.
The Gala staff reserves the right to determine the condition of the quilt prior to hanging and to reject a quilt for display. If the quilt is not in proper condition, the exhibitor will be notified prior to the gala. The museum shall incur no liability whatsoever for declining to exhibit an entry.
Registration form deadline is 5:00 p.m., Thursday, January 29, 2009.
Entry Drop off: Thursday, February 19, 2009 - 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.

A 4 sleeve must be attached on the back of the quilt.
Must be smoke free.
A label must be pinned or sewn to each item which includes the owners name, address and telephone number.
All quilts must remain on exhibit for the duration of the Gala.
Quilt show will end at 4:00 p.m., February 22, 2009. The doors will be locked. Only Gala staff will be allowed in the building between 4:00 p.m. and 5:00 p.m. while take down is in progress.
Quilt pickup is Sunday, February 22, 2009 from 5:00 p.m. 6:00 p.m. Entry receipts must be presented at the time of pickup.
